INTERNATIONAL TRADE PROCEDURES & DOCUMENTATION


UNIT-I
EXIM Documentation: Registration of exporters, export quotations, production and clearance of goods for exports, shipping, transport, insurance documents, Instruments of payments, open account, bill of exchange, Letter of credit, Export credit Guarantees, Certificate of Origin. Processing of an export order, procedures of export finance.

UNIT-II
Pre – shipment Inspection, Quality control, Cargo Insurance, role of clearing and forwarding agents; shipment of Export Cargo. Foreign exchange regulations and formalities, Foreign exchange rates: fixed, flexible, spot, forward and swap; concept of dry port, containerization, air transport, international set up, freight rate structure.

UNIT-III
Import – Export Pass Book, Import Licensing, Replenishment Licensing, Cash Assistance, Duty Drawback, Special Economic Zones: concept, role and implications in India, Role of State Trading, Export Houses / Trading Houses.

UNIT-IV
International Monetary Systems; Problems of International Liquidity, I.M.F., special Drawing Rights,
WTO agreements on trade procedures: GATT, GATS, SPS, TBT, TRIPS, anti dumping and DSB.
